A VOICE FOR
LOS ALTOS HILLS RESIDENTS
Our Legacy: 25 Years of Community Action
For a quarter century, Hills 2000-Friends of the Hills protected our town's unique character. Their track record includes:
Open Space Preservation: Successfully protecting Westwind Barn, Byrne Preserve, parks and other Town lands through support of the Open Space InitiativeĀ
Pathway Protection: Supporting a successful referendum to overturn a City Council's decision to vacate pathway easements, thus securing and protecting our community pathway system
Community Engagement: Launching the newsletter that became the town publication "Our Town", supported local candidates, bolstered standing committees and sponsored beloved events like Vines & WInes
The Challenge Ahead
The landscape of local governance has changed. Today, critical decisions affecting our neighborhoods are increasingly made beyond Town boundaries.
New Pressures: State housing mandates and external development forces have replaced local control.
A United Voice: We all share the desire to keep Los Altos Hills a wonderful place to live, enjoy and preserve for future generations. Maintaining our influence now requires a united, informed majority of residents who show up, stay engaged and make their voices heard at public meetings and state forums.
Friends of the Hills unites new leadership with a singular focus: protecting and celebrating our Town's semi-rural character. Together, we are fostering an informed, engaged community driven by a strong collective voice.
